End Return 3-Position Solenoid
Valve Mechanism
Application of an end return 3-position solenoid in a gas valve. It remains in the fully closed position when not energized. It can be controlled to intermediate and fully open positions by switching the energized coils. No positioning mechanism or control is required.

Center Return 3-Position Solenoid
Optical Filter Selection Mechanism
3-position solenoid used in an optical filter selection mechanism. It normally stays in the center position and selects either the push side or pull side as needed. Since it waits in the center position, it switches to either side under almost equal conditions.

Path Selection Mechanism
Example of using a 3-position solenoid in a path selection mechanism. It normally stays in the center position but switches based on conditions. It can move to either the front or back with the same stroke, allowing for high-speed operation.
